Not everyone has the courage to wear a part, and others just prefer a more simple hairstyle. However, for those that do dare to be different, a part can really make you stand out from the crowd. It’s crazy how a simple line or curve can make you instantly recognizable. Although subtle, a part is like the icing on the cake for a haircut. It is often said that people’s haircuts are an extension of their personality, and I definitely believe that to be true.
For example, some of the most famous celebrities are instantly recognizable because of their parts. Everyone knows Drake for the iconic “5 gum” part. Shannon Sharpe has been sporting the high fade with a hard part for as long as I can remember. And last but not least, almost everyone knows rapper Nas made the hook part so popular. If you’ve never had a part and think you can muster up the courage to get one, I’d definitely recommend it and I think you’d thank yourself for trying it out. On another note, cutting a part in someone’s head is pretty simple and straightforward, as long as you take your time and have confidence in what you are doing. From experience, I’ve found that the majority of people that get parts are those with brush length hair or deep waves. In the video above, the person has wavy hair. You have to be careful (not afraid) with putting a straight part into a curly hair texture. Often the hair will want to split, and it will have you thinking that you may have made the part too wide when you actually didn’t. Check out the video above and you will see how I tackled this problem.
